Our Candidates

We spend countless hours searching out and interviewing the top candidates available. We feel that the pastors and church staff that we refer to the local church would be good enough to work at our own home church.

Our Clients

Our clients understand our philosophy, and they put their trust in us. The church leaders learn about the principles of the right angle rule, and abide by its principles and practices during the hiring process. 

When the local church and a candidate treat the interview process like dating, they set themselves up for failure in the long run. We have found that what happens at Square One sets the tone for the rest of the relationship. The disagreements in ministry philosophy, doctrine and chemistry seem to appear out of nowhere 6, 12 or 15 months after the honeymoon phase is over. The disagreement or point of contention can most often be found in one of the following areas.

  • Ministry Philosophy: "I can’t believe he said that having small groups is small thinking”
  • Doctrine: "Does he really believe that the gifts are being used by God today?"
  • Culture/Chemistry: "I can’t believe he’s playing poker; I don’t care if he’s not gambling"
  • Spiritual Health of Local Church: "They are much more damaged than they first appeared to be"
